Coaches

All of our coaches are CaliRev certified, which means they’ve been trained in bodyweight fitness, human anatomy, physiology, and nutrition.  They also carry CPR/AED certifications and some have further fitness training and specialties.

More importantly, they understand that no two bodies are alike and will work with you to get fit at the right pace.

Yogi Dutch

Specializations
Vinyasa Flow
Core Power Yoga
DDP Yoga

A lifelong weight trainer, Dutch turned to yoga 2013 as a way to deal with a lot of physical, mental and emotional baggage.  What he discovered was the first form of exercise where he felt both exhausted and exhilarated at the same time.  From that point on, he was hooked!  Dutch became a certified yoga instructor in the spring of 2015 and has been teaching ever since.

His yoga consists of a potent physical and meditative practice designed to motivate and empower students to explore what’s possible in their bodies, both on and off the yoga mat. Utilizing deep breathing and linking breath to movement, Dutch encourages students to modify when needed, amplify when desired, and most importantly, listen to their bodies during each practice.

Yogi Jo

Specializations
Yin Yoga
Restorative Yoga
Vinyasa Flow

Jo first came to yoga attracted by the physical aspects of increased flexibility and strength.  Before long, she came to see the deeper benefits that yoga can offer through mind, body and spirit balancing.  As a longtime 'Type-A-can’t-sit-still person', yoga allowed her to enjoy stillness for the first time and she now appreciates how stillness can lead each of us to greater strength, rejuvenation and healing.

Jo has a particular appreciation for 'Yin Yoga', which draws upon the energy of stillness, to balance the mostly 'Yang' yoga and athletic pursuits that draw upon the energy of action.  She received her 200-hour yoga certification at Radiance Yoga in Old Town Alexandria and thoroughly enjoys every opportunity to contribute to the NOVA yoga community.
